Meet your coaches
ERIC SACHS
Head Coach/Owner
My name is Eric Sachs. I was born in Hollywood, California and have lived in Southern California my entire life. I began my professional career early, becoming a police officer at the age of 21, where I served the public for ten years. That experience shaped my approach to leadership, risk assessment, accountability, and service, all of which continue to influence how I coach today.
I have been riding motorcycles since the age of 17 and have spent my life on two wheels. In 2015, I purchased my first BMW adventure motorcycle, but like many riders, I was intimidated by the idea of taking a large ADV bike off-road. In 2016, I found Rawhyde Adventures and enrolled in my first Intro to Adventure course. That experience completely changed my relationship with adventure motorcycling. I immersed myself in training, returning for multiple courses and tours, and quickly fell in love with both the discipline and the community Rawhyde had built.
The quality of training, emphasis on safety, and culture of respect at Rawhyde ultimately led me down the path to becoming a coach. Today, I am the owner of Rawhyde Moto Adventures and I remain deeply involved in day-to-day coaching, instruction, and I continue to lead many of our tour operations. I primarily train and coach our Level-3 curriculum (Next Step), lead tours, and conduct a significant number of private lessons tailored to individual rider goals. I also work closely with riders who want focused progression, confidence building, and real-world skill development beyond group training environments.
I view adventure motorcycle coaching as an opportunity to be of service. Sharing my passion for ADV riding, helping riders safely expand their capabilities, and guiding them toward greater confidence and self-reliance is what drives me. Whether working with a rider early in their journey or helping an experienced rider refine advanced techniques, my approach is rooted in safety, clarity, fun, and honest communication.
I live in Newbury Park, California with my wife, two of four children, and a full house of animals. I look forward to riding with you and being part of your adventure riding journey.
