JACK MILLER
Instructor
My name is John “Jack” Miller, a Colorado native whose life has long been shaped by the mountains. Growing up on the ski hills - and continuing into a career in the ski industry - eventually led me, somewhat unexpectedly, into the world of adventure riding.
A few years ago, I came across a RAWHYDE video featuring a rider tackling the teeter-totter obstacle at their California training facility. Watching the incredible capability of the BMW GS was all it took - I bought one the very next day. Within a week, I found myself at the Colorado facility taking the “Intro to Adventure” class, and I’ve been hooked ever since.
While I may not have decades of riding experience like many of the exceptional RAWHYDE instructors, my background as a U.S. Olympic ski racer - along with my experience training under world-class coaches and later coaching elite athletes myself - allows me to bring a unique, performance-driven perspective to instruction.
Speed, vision, balance, biomechanics, and understanding how to control and work with the forces of physics - these principles are at the core of both alpine skiing and off-road adventure riding. The parallels between the two are remarkable, and building a strong mechanical foundation is key to success in both disciplines.
Simply put, I love this sport. I’m excited to share what I’ve learned, help riders master the RAWHYDE Moto Adventures curriculum, continue growing as a rider, and connect with others - whether in a RAWHYDE training class or out on an epic tour.
