Day in the Desert

Duration: 1.5 Days Price: $450 Food: Food/Lodging: Included Difficulty: Easy

Day in the Desert is a fully supported weekend experience at ZAKAR, built for riders who want a taste of real desert adventure without committing to a full multi-day expedition. You’ll arrive Friday, settle in, and spend Saturday exploring legendary terrain across the Mojave and into Death Valley’s most visually stunning zones.

This is a RAWHYDE training-tour experience. That means we ride, but we also pause throughout the day for light instruction – covering body position, line choice, braking, and terrain strategy when it matters most. Whether you’re dialing in fundamentals or pushing your limits, you’ll leave a better rider than you arrived.

Day 2 - Saturday

Ride the Mojave

After breakfast, we roll out for a full day of riding through some of the most unique terrain in California.
Expect a mix of:
  • Wide-open desert two-track
  • Flowing dirt roads
  • Rocky sections and technical features (depending on group)
  • Stunning elevation changes and panoramic viewpoints
We ride with purpose, but we stop often – to take in the scenery, talk lines, and provide guidance where it helps most.

Potential Destinations Include:

  • Randsburg Ghost Town – a preserved gold mining town frozen in time
  • Charcoal Kilns – historic beehive structures tucked into the mountains
  • Agueberry Point – sweeping, high-elevation views over Death Valley
  • Ballarat Ghost Town – remote, rugged, and full of character
  • Artist’s Palette – surreal, colorful hills unlike anything else in the desert
  • Trona Pinnacles – massive tufa formations rising out of a dry lakebed, otherworldly and iconic
Routes will vary based on conditions and group ability, but the goal is simple: epic riding + unforgettable scenery. We return to ZAKAR late afternoon.
