High Rockies Adventure
All US-based Rawhyde training tours include private accommodations by default. Double occupancy is available upon request.
Following our training programs, Rawhyde has long offered a two day follow up ride in California known as Base Camp Alpha. The purpose has always been simple: to give riders the opportunity to immediately apply what they have just learned while it is still fresh. We are excited to offer a similar progression experience in Colorado’s high country.
Over the years, we’ve seen a common pattern. Many riders leave training highly motivated, only to return home without an immediate opportunity to ride and practice their new skills. Time passes, confidence softens, and the sharp edge gained during training can feel muted the next time they get back on the bike. Skill development requires repetition, and nothing reinforces technique like real miles in the terrain adventure motorcycles are built to ride.
The most effective way to lock in new skills is purposeful riding. A guided, structured ride through varied terrain allows techniques to move from conscious effort to instinctive execution. With that in mind, we created a dedicated two day High Rockies Adventure designed specifically to bridge the gap between structured training and independent riding.
This experience takes everything learned during training and puts it into practice across Colorado’s high alpine passes, dirt roads, and changing terrain. Coaches provide on-trail guidance and timely instruction, helping riders refine technique, build confidence, and develop real-world decision making. It is the natural next step after training, turning newly learned skills into lasting ability and setting riders up for long-term success on and off the pavement.
The Boreas Pass Loop
The Monarch and Marshall pass loop.
Salida, Colorado
Today's 150 mile ride takes us south out of camp on an unpaved country road toward Salida, Colorado. We'll fuel up in Salida and head for the Continental Divide at the top of Marshall Pass. Marshall Pass is nothing short of stunning. The aspen forests are lush, dense and amazing, the views are stupendous. Words can't adequately describe how impressive the high mountains of Colorado are. This is one of the great mountain passes of the state. We'll continue down the western slope of Marshall Pass and into the rustic one horse town of Sargents before we head back up to the top of the Continental Divide again over historic "old Monarch Pass" & from Monarch we'll head into the rough and tumble town of Buena Vista; Colorado for fuel before returning again to Camp.
